The ‘Clarear pra Juventude – Blind Theater’ Project will bring the show Clarear to students from public schools in seven Brazilian cities (Cubatão, Juiz de Fora, Duque de Caxias, Japeri, Nova Iguaçu, Macaé, and Cascavel). The project will provide transportation from the school to the theater and back for all participating students and teachers. After the performance, each student will receive a snack, a juice, and a comic book featuring the characters from the play. Each teacher will receive a guide to discuss relevant aspects of creating inclusion in today’s world in the classroom. All of this is completely FREE.
The show is a light-hearted and humorous play that will touch the students’ sensitivity. The theme is entirely focused on inclusion. Five young people share the same dormitory, including a visually impaired person, a hearing-impaired person, and a wheelchair user. With much humor, the plot demonstrates overcoming communication and coexistence challenges through the synergy of friendship, in a 40-minute performance that captivates the audience with a paradox between the complexity and simplicity of the theme.
The play is presented in the Blind Theater format, where all scenes are performed entirely in the dark, offering a unique experience and inviting the audience to forego their vision and understand the plot through their other senses (smell, taste, touch, and hearing), using aromas, music, and tactile sensations.
