No. In Blind Theater, you are inside the set, along with the actors, and the scenes unfold around you, very close to you. This helps you better understand the play, as everything happens in complete darkness.
No. In Blind Theater, everyone operates in complete darkness—actors, production crew, musicians, and stagehands. The idea is for the audience and artists to share the same space and have the exact same experience under the same conditions
No. One of the main goals of Blind Theater is to integrate sighted actors with visually impaired actors, allowing this artistic experience to be a new learning opportunity and experimentation for theater professionals. You will never see a Blind Theater performance with only visually impaired actors or only sighted actors.
Yes. Throughout the performance, the dark room will be monitored by infrared cameras, and a staff member will oversee everything happening inside. In case of an emergency, the room’s lights will turn on immediately, and everyone will exit the area, following the safety protocols of the venue.
No problem. If you need to leave the dark room urgently during the performance, raise both arms and wait. The staff member monitoring the infrared cameras will immediately radio the production team. The performance will be paused, and someone will come to guide you out of the room. However, please note that once you leave, you will not be allowed to return.
No. At no point will any actor or production staff touch the audience. Depending on the performance, you might experience some tactile sensations, but nothing that will move you from your seat or cause any pain or discomfort.
